My name is Dana and I am from Paso Robles, California. I lived there for 26 years before moving to Denver to complete my degree. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Development and Psychology. I have a six-year-old son and we love dressing up as superheroes, rescuing animals, snowboarding and swimming.

My career with children began at the age of 16, volunteering in a kindergarten classroom. From there I continued to work in a daycare, then preschools, teaching kindergarten in Tahoe, and overseeing a before and after school program. When I was completing my degree in Denver, I taught at a Montessori preschool and then resigned for the birth of my son. After graduating from MSU with a newborn, I worked as a treatment counselor with traumatized youth and then relocated to Fort Collins where I returned to teaching.

Traveling and road trips is a favorite thing of mine and has consisted of visiting 16 states and two countries. I have been to Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Cancun, Mexico and explored Tahiti and Bora Bora, French Polynesia last summer. I would love to travel around Germany, Switzerland and Antarctica!

I chose early childhood education to be able to provide a safe and positive environment for all children; watching children blossom and excel in their environments is remarkable. I enjoy working with children because I am constantly learning as much as the children are. They remind me to embrace my inner child, enjoy the small things in life and never take anything for granted.
